Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ajmal Wazir said that the directives of the World Health Organization (WHO) are implemented in the province.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Ajmal Wazir, paying tribute to the front line doctors at KP, said that our two front line heroes, Dr. Aurangzeb and Dr. Azam, have sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, in the National Coordinating Committee (NCC), is moving forward in consultation with all provinces to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease.

Remaining still as a pillar on the front line, our ministers and chief secretaries are also victims of the deadly virus, he said.

He added that due to the efforts of the chief minister, the arrival of Pakistanis from abroad started from Peshawar airport.

There is currently no shortage of ventilators and beds in hospitals in the province, said Wazir.

In addition, President Dr Arif Alvi called doctors the heroes who lost their lives in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

In a tweet Monday on the deaths of pathologist Dr Aurangzeb and pediatrician Dr Muhammad Azam Khan due to COVID-19, the president expressed his deep pain.

He also said that the nation had recognized their sacrifice. The heroes did their best to help people survive the dangerous disease.

The President also offered condolences to the families of the deceased physicians.
